Being able to reach the right audience with digital marketing is basic to get customer engagement with your brand online. In marketing, less is more. The fewer messages each user receives, the more powerful it will become. Make each message count and learn how to get the most out of your marketing campaigns by targeting the right audience.

Use Qlik analytics abilities to segment smartly your contacts in Mailchimp. We can get data from different sources in Qlik to improve our knowledge about our contacts and blend data to reach insights that make the difference.

Create a dashboard and explore without limits using Qlik Associative engine, segment your contacts and organize them into a list in MailChimp.

We will use Qlik, LLodi & Mailchimp. If you use an integration tool like Zapier or Workato, you can also use it but is not required.

You must have LLodi Writer Extension installed in your Qlik Sense and LLodi Agent enabled in your server. See LLodi Architecture.

The extension provides the user with an interface to enter data directly from the dashboard, selecting the target contacts and choosing the list where they will be included.

LLodi Agent will solve the CORS problem request due to MailChimp does not support client-side implementation of their API using CORS requests due to the potential security risk of exposing account API keys.  LLodi Agent provides a server-side environment to make your requests safer and more powerful.

Checking the MailChimp API Documentation we can set up authentication and know the URL and parameters of our action, in this case “add a new list member”.

Following the documentation instructions, we will create our LLodi Form with the fields we want to use. We are using only the required fields: list_id, email_address and status. The id of our list is a path parameter, so we can use Dynamic Request fields to create dynamic URL in our forms.

Integrate Qlik in your marketing workflows using LLodi, gives you a lot of possible actions, such as:

  • Send personalized emails.
  • Create new campaigns.
  • Add contact to automation.
  • Send marketing campaigns from Qlik.
  • And much more!

What Is Marketing Automation?

Zapier “Connect Your Apps and Automate Workflows”

Zapier is one of the leading applications to automate easy-to-use cross-application workflows for both business and IT users. Ideal for developing simple processes (Zaps) with more than 750 applications.

Zapier offers a free trial for 14 days, which allows you to create any process without limits of steps or applications.

After creating the account, you have access to the platform in order to create your first Zap. In the Explore option, all possible applications that can be used are displayed. If you select ActiveCampaign, you will see some pre-configured zaps and if we keep scrolling down, a box appears with the different actions that this connector allows.

A Zap can take several steps. If you create a Zap to be integrated into a LLodi form, in the first step you will always have to select the “Webhooks by Zapier” app.

In the “Choose Trigger” section mark the “Catch Hook” option – Continue
Set up Webhooks by Zapier Hook – Continue
The following screen appears, with the address “webhook url”. When you press OK, Zapier will wait for a test.

The address “Webhook URL” should be copied in the URL field of the Custom Forms that we are going to create. Add the name, the type, in this case Zapier and click on the insert button

If you know the fields to create the action, you can click on the gear and enter “Show form Fields” to add and configure the different fields that will later be used in the form and sent to Zapier.

If you do not know the fields, access the Zap in Zapier and select App in the second step, choose ActiveCampaign and all available actions appear. Tag “Create Campaign”, click on the continue button (Zapier will ask you to connect your ActiveCampaign account) and later a screen with all fields that you need.

Cool, now you have all the information to create the form. It’s been quite easy, hasn’t it?

After creating the fields in LLodi, return to the Custom Forms screen and click again on the gear, on this occasion you will have to access the “Test Form” option of the gear to run the test. This process will connect LLodi and Zapier, and in the previous screen, you will be able to join each ActiveCampaign field with a field of LLodi.
